While serving as Jikjang, it is said he would always point out anyone who acted contrary to proper conduct and etiquette.
In June 1455, after Sejo ascended the throne through the Gyeyu Incident, he took office as Gunggam Jeong (Director of the Royal Arsenal) not because he was the blood brother of the queen, but because his character and ability were recognized. In 1458 he became Buji Tongyemunsa, and he served as Chamui (Vice Minister) of the Board of Punishments and Vice Minister of the Board of Personnel, among other posts. In 1461 he was restored and reappointed, and was appointed Magistrate of Inbu Bu. After that he passed through the post of Governor of the Hanseong Court and served as Jungchuwon Busa.
In 1462 he was promoted to Sungjeong Daebu (崇政大夫). After serving as Jungchuwon Sa (Sub-Minister of the Central Secretariat), in August of the same year he was appointed Minister of Works (Gongjo Pansuk) and concurrently served as Director-General of the Osewi Dochongbu. In December 1469, when Seongjong ascended the throne, he was promoted to Daegwang Boguk Sungnok Daebu and transferred to Haengpan Jungchubu Sa.
For his achievement in installing Seongjong on the throne and stabilizing the state, in 1471 (the 2nd year of Seongjong's reign) he was honored as a Jwari Merit Subject of second rank, titled Sunseong Myeongryang Gyeongje Jwari Gongsin (純誠明亮經濟佐理功臣). He became Yeondonnyeongbusa (Chief of the Royal Relatives' Office) and soon was enfeoffed as Lord Pacheon (坡川府院君). Afterward, as a meritorious minister of the royal family, he held the rank of Chongbyeong (Commander-in-Chief) and was accused of managing military power at will; in 1473 (the 4th year of Seongjong's reign) he was impeached by Saheon Bu Daesaheon Seo Geojeong and others.
In 1475 he rose to Uijeongbu Right State Councillor, and he also concurrently served as Jigyeongyeonsa. In 1476 he became Yeonggyeongyeonsa. Around this time he contracted a swelling disease (腫疹). The king, who held him in especially high regard, personally bestowed rare medicines on him, but there was no effect, and his illness grew worse until he died in 1485. Upon hearing of his death, Seongjong grieved deeply and ordered a Cheoljo (a mourning ceremony) to express his condolences. His grave is in Dangha-ri, Gyoha-myeon, Paju, and his posthumous name is Yangpyeong (襄平).

Other
In the obituary (졸기) of the Veritable Records of the Joseon Dynasty, it is evaluated that Yun Sahun, as a royal relative, evenly held good offices and reached the rank of 1st grade. When he was appointed to high posts in the Uijeongbu, the censors criticized this, but the king did not heed them. It is said that Yun Sahun, while very drunk, told the censors, "Do as you please. I have already obtained the Grand Minister (大匡)," and rebuked them.
