Sunwoo Jin

Sunwoo Jin (鮮于 鎭, January 8, 1922 – May 17, 2009) was a independence activist, soldier, and politician of South Korea. He was born in Jeongju County, Pyongan-bukdo, and his family seat was Taewon (太原). From January 31, 1945 to June 26, 1949, he also served as a secretary to Baekbeom Kim Gu.

Life

Early life

• After graduating from Xinjing University in Manchuria (滿洲), Xinjing (新京), in 1940, he joined the Korean Liberation Army at Puyang, Anhui, China, where the Sixth Branch of the Third Zone of the Korean Liberation Army was located, and engaged in activities including propaganda work in enemy-controlled areas.
• In August 1944, he entered the Korean Liberation Army Officer Training Class attached to the Tenth Branch Officer Training Class of the Central Military Academy of the Republic of China (中華民國 陸軍軍官學校). After completing a three-month military training course, he was assigned as a second lieutenant (副尉) to the Political Training Office (政訓處) of the General Headquarters, where he broadcast propaganda and current affairs programs twice a week for three months through the Central Broadcasting Station in Chongqing (重慶).

• 1956: Bachelor of Public Administration, 1st class, Korea National Defense University

Later years

• 1990: Awarded the Order of National Foundation, Patriotic Medal
• In his later years, he served as Executive Director of the Baekbeom Kim Gu Memorial Hall Foundation (chairman: Seoeon Kim Shin) and then as Executive Director of the Baekbeom Memorial Hall (director: ).
