**Han Gye-hui** (韓繼禧, 1423 – 1482) was a Joseon civil official and scholar. His courtesy name was Jasun (子順), and his family seat was Cheongju. He was the grandson of Han Sang-gyeong and the third son of Han Hye (韓惠). ## Life In 1441 (23rd year of King Sejong's reign), he passed the jinsa examination, and in 1447 (29th year of King Sejong's reign) he passed the civil service examination and successively served as Junior Clerk (正字) of the Seungmunwon (承文院) and Junior Clerk of the Jiphyeonjeon (集賢殿). After King Sejo ascended the throne, he was ordered by the king to teach Confucian classics to the crown prince. He later served as Director of Academic Affairs (直提學), Vice Minister of the Board of War (兵曹參議), Senior Royal Secretary (右承旨), Junior Royal Secretary (左承旨), Magistrate of Insun Bureau (仁順府尹), Vice Minister of the Board of Works (工曹參判), and Vice Minister of the Board of Personnel (吏曹參判), among other posts. In 1465 (11th year of King Sejo's reign), he was appointed Minister of the Board of Personnel (吏曹判書), and in 1467 (13th year of King Sejo's reign) he was transferred to Chief of the Chungchu Bureau (中樞府事). When Yi Jun (李浚), Prince Gyeseong of Guseong (龜城君), became Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Guard (都摠管), and Nam I became Minister of the Board of War (兵曹判書), he secretly told the king, "Yi Jun is a member of the royal family, so it is not appropriate for him to command the royal guard troops, and Nam I has a vile and violent temperament, so he must not be entrusted with military power." As a result, both men were dismissed from their posts that very day. Later, after King Yejong ascended the throne and Nam I was executed, he was registered as a Meritorious Subject for Supporting the Throne and Quelling Rebellion (推忠定難翼戴功臣) and was enfeoffed as Prince Seopyeong (西平君). In 1471 (2nd year of King Seongjong's reign), he was registered as a Meritorious Subject for Pure Sincerity, Brightness, and Statecraft (純誠明亮經濟佐理功臣) and in 1478 (9th year of King Seongjong's reign) he was appointed Senior Left Minister (左贊成). In 1482 (13th year of King Seongjong's reign), when his illness became grave, he was once again enfeoffed as Prince Seopyeong. In August of that year, he died at the age of 60 and was posthumously given the title Munjeong (文靖).
